18__ Newmarket & Sperryville Turnpike Stock Certificate. Unissued 1850s vintage turnpike scripophily document with vignettes of George and Martha Washington, a allegorical female soldier (early version of Va state symbol) with ship in background, and small covered wagon. The Newmarket & Sperryville Turnpike was part of an intricate turnpike system in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia that connected Newmarket and Sperryville. Today it forms part of VA Rt 211. This antique stock certificate is in VF+ condition.
