Product Description

1917 New Orleans & Northeastern RR Bond Certificate. Very nice scripophily document with neat vignette of pelican feeding her chicks (LA state symbol) flanked by arriving and departing trains. Construction on the New Orleans & Northwestern RR began in 1882. The line opened in 1883 and extended 196 miles from New Orleans to Meridian, Mississippi. In 1916 the Southern Railway acquired the New Orleans & Northeastern line, which eventually formed part of the Queen and Crescent Route. This scarce certificate is in VF+ condition.
