1862 Mobile & Ohio RR Stock Certificate. Classic Civil War vintage railroad scripophily document with vignette of steam train on stone bridge. The Mobile & Ohio was a historic railroad running from Mobile Alabama north to the Ohio River in Cairo Illinois. During the Civil War the line was converted to military use and it quickly became a military target for both sides during the war. Following the conflict, the Mobile & Ohio had to be almost entirely rebuilt. Under financial difficulties, the Mobile & Ohio was controlled by the Southern RW. VF+ condition with very ligh glue stain on left border.
