1940 Cracker Jack Co Stock Certificate. Cracker Jack, candy-coated popcorn and peanuts, is one of the oldest mass produced snack foods. Frederick W. Rueckheim and his brother Louis produced an early version of Cracker Jack and sold it at the first Chicago Worlds Fair in 1893. The product and its marketing evolved through the years. Prizes were included in every box of Cracker Jack beginning in 1912. The mascots Sailor Jack and his dog, Bingo, were introduced on the Cracker Jack box in 1918. The Cracker Jack Company was purchased by Borden in 1964. Borden sold the brand to Frito-Lay in 1997. This scripophily document is issued to Henry Eckstein Jr., son of Henry Eckstein, who developed packaging for Cracker Jack in the 1890s. This antique stock certificate is in VF+ condition with closely trimmed left side with a trace of tape residue on edge of left border.
