Scarce $500 Confederate Bond (Criswell-12A) 1863

1863 $500 Confederate Bond Certificate (Criswell-12A). Authorized in May, 1861, this early infrequently seen scripophily Confederate bond features vignettes of male Indian (left), allegorical commerce flanked by cupids (center), and Indian female (right). It is signed by Jones. Unusual 3 hand written coupons, and 14 printed coupons at bottom of bond. Scarce, with only 452 of this variety (with hand written coupons) issued. An unusually beautiful Confederate bond in VF+ condition.
